Ingredients:

For the dough:

250 ml (1 cup) warm milk

80 g (⅓ cup) sugar

7 g (2¼ tsp) dry yeast

80 g (⅓ cup) butter, melted

1 egg + 1 yolk

Pinch of salt

1 tsp vanilla extract

For the filling:

200 g (1¾ cups) ground poppy seeds

100 g (½ cup) sugar

120 ml (½ cup) milk

1 tsp lemon zest (optional)

1 tsp vanilla sugar

For finishing:

1 egg (for brushing)
